Five practices I am using to manifest the life I want

One of the first things I got turned on to during my spiritual awakening was the Law of Attraction. I know, everyone goes for that right away, don't they? It's like, "Is there really a way to bend reality to meet your needs? And if so, why didn't anyone tell me until now?" The trouble with LOA is that as soon as you discover it, you also discover a hundred million "gurus" online who are going to show you how to be a multi-millionaire by just buying their online course...and I don't think it works quite like that.
Additionally, I don't trust a complete stranger who tells me to fork over money to them so they can show me how to manifest money. If it works so well for them, why can't they manifest their own money and teach people for nothing? Wouldn't that make more sense?

At the same time, I do believe there are people who really know how to make this work. I have greatly benefited by the works of Wayne Dyer and Stuart Wilde, for example. I think the best authors on this subject have sadly passed on to other dimensions. It would be wonderful if there was a local person that I could talk to who could show me more than I know. So-called digital experts drive me batty. Can I get an amen?

Well, I have had both success and error in manifesting. Very close to my spiritual awakening, there was within me an explosion of spiritual power as I tapped into parts of me that had been waiting to be accessed. I was able to manifest a $1,300 check at a time I needed it. I was able to bring about five thousand dollars before that. My wife and I spent a weekend in Las Vegas, and I was able to manifest the type of room I wanted in Caesars Palace.

Yet there have been ups and downs. Income has fluctuated. I sometimes find it impossible to get past the chattering mind during meditation. And the dream of my own business, my own income, and my designer life has not manifested yet despite constantly focusing on it.

I have not given up though. I am writing this as a chronicle, in the hopes that as I figure things out, you the reader shall do the same. There are a few things that I am doing to bring about the life I want right now. Here they are, in case you want to try it too:

1) I hang out in wealthy places.

Personally, my wife and I love casinos. If you have a gambling problem, try another place like a ritzy hotel. Neither of us gamble, but the flow of money-energy is very big at these places, so we go, maybe order a coffee, and just sit in that energy. This helps me focus my thoughts on how to get more of this energy, and it has helped us many times in the past

2) I decide what I would like to experience, and what I would not like to experience.

This technique helped me manifest the payment of a bill last month, as I don't want to experience the pain of missing my responsibilities. It also helps me use my imagination, as I have to really think out the details of what I want in life.

3) I let negative emotions have their course.

Despite what the gurus say, if you realize there's more money going out than coming in, negative emotions are normal. You should experience them without attaching guilt. The guilt will just begin a downward spiral of negativity. It is important to feel the emotions, acknowledge them, and then let them go. Do not remain attached to them.

4) I look for reasons to experience positive emotions

You can do this in many ways. It may be as simple as hot chocolate on a rainy day, a hike in nature on a sunny day, a snowball fight with your significant other, or a Sunday drive. Feel the sun on your face. Love yourself. Be grateful.

5) I seek synchronicities in every day events to affirm that which I seek to manifest

This activity excersizes my faith, which is somewhat akin to a muscle. If you don't use it regularly, it will become weak. It also stimulates the reticular activating system, which causes you to see even more synchronicities than you did before. So, if you look for signs that you are on the right path, the signs will appear all around you.

So those are five things I am doing to manifest the life that I want. Stay tuned to learn how that is working. Thanks for reading - love and light to you as always!

Becoming Untethered: An Awakened Being's Changing View on the Bible, Part 1

I grew up Baptist. Not just Baptist either, but Independent, Fundamental, Separated Baptist. I received Jesus Christ as my Saviour at the age of five and was baptized a year later. It was one of the few times I allowed myself to be dunked underwater completely because I had such a fear of putting my head underwater at that age. Growing up like this meant, of course, that I was raised to believe that the Bible is the literal Word of God. All of the stories are true. All of the instruction in the Bible is good for doctrine and practice in the daily life. Nothing was to be questioned, and it contains all of the answers you could possibly ask about life. Who am I? Why am I here? What is my purpose? Where do I go from here? All of these questions are answered in the pages of the Bible.     In later years, I lived a year and a half in Utah and zealously argued with the Mormons, trying to convince them of the error of their ways and to trust in Jesus Christ ...

Yule: Celebrating the Winter Solstice and Christmas as an Awakened Being

It has been two years since my awakening, and this is the first year where I have really paid attention to astrology, the equinoxes and solstices, and the path of the sun. It's a little difficult for a neophyte because I know very little of the traditions of these days or how they should be celebrated. What's more, the winter solstice will take place on a Wednesday this year, and I will be working hard that day as usual, so whatever celebration I can do will be muted. Is there anyone else out there who is new to all this? Are you feeling this way too?     Well, I thought I would look into what the Winter Solstice is and how it can be celebrated this year. Apparently, Yule comes from the Norse word Hweol. The Norse apparently believed that the sun was a wheel of fire that spun away from the earth, and then back toward it, and that the Yule was the day that it began to return to earth again. So it is the celebration of the returning of the wheel, a time...

Becoming Untethered: An Awakened Being's Changing View of the Bible, Part 3

In my previous blog post , I wrote about a well-known theory of how we got the first five books of the Bible, known as the Pentateuch. It was something I was aware of, even when I was still a Fundamental Christian, but did not really open my mind to. As someone who is supposed to be writing about Spirituality and Taoism, I hope that I have not lost you along the way. There's a reason I keep making excursions into Christian territory. This is my background, and as such, I am compelled to reinvestigate it with a higher mind. A secondary reason for my meanderings into old scripture manuscripts is because I think it may help someone else who may have also grown up in the church.     I want to address some objections that have been raised to the JEDP theory . Personally, I don't know how much of it I hold to. According to the late Dr. Alan Cairns 1 , a Free Presbyterian scholar, the idea that the Pentateuch (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deutero...
